This week, players from Yorkshire Carnegie’s ERDPP Under-17s age group will take on a touring Sweden Under-18s side at Selby RUFC and Keighley RUFC.

The Sweden squad are touring Yorkshire and part of the tour, which has been organised by White Rose Rugby, will involve them taking part in a coaching session at Bradford and Bingley RFC on Thursday, which will be supported by coaches from the Yorkshire Carnegie Academy.

On Friday the squad will travel to Selby RUFC where they will play against Yorkshire Carnegie’s East Region ERDPP players, kick off 6.30pm and this will be followed by a second game against the West Region at Keighley RUFC, kick off 12.30pm.

The Swedish players have also been invited to attend Yorkshire Carnegie’s final game of the Greene King IPA Championship season against London Scottish at Emerald Headingley on Saturday.

Stuart Dixon, Academy Coaching Development Officer for Yorkshire Carnegie said: “This tour represents a great opportunity for our players who have not had experience in the Academy or county pathways this season and promotes our philosophies that players in our sport can develop later.  It will mark the end to our ERDPP programme and will be a great experience against an international side preparing for their European tournament later in the year.”
