As part of Yorkshire Carnegie Academy’s coach education programme the Academy will be holding a series of coach education sessions during March.

On Wednesday 21st March, Carnegie Academy coach Scott Barrow will deliver a CPD session at Huddersfield YMCA around developing team attack. This will link to Yorkshire Carnegie Academy’s philosophies and how they use constraint led games to achieve performance outcomes.

Rick Shuttleworth, who is a High Performance Coach Development Consultant working with the RFU, GB Hockey and England Football, will lead the session on Monday 26th March at the Kirkstall training ground.  This will be an internal session for coaches within the Academy pathway and will focus on designing sessions to allow players to explore multiple options to solve problems.

The final session will take place at Wetherby RUFC on Wednesday 28th March and will look at Assessment/Selector Accreditation training and is for Coaches involved within the ERDPP and County pathways to help them develop their skillsets around what “good” looks like and how to feed forward and back to players around selection events.

Coaches who are currently involved within the Yorkshire Carnegie pathway and/or coaching within one of our partner schools or the county age grade teams who are interested in attending these sessions can contact stuart.dixon@yorkshirecarnegie.com for more details.
