At Yorkshire Carnegie’s recent game against Hartpury in the Greene King IPA Championship the club welcomed junior players from community clubs across Yorkshire.

Players from six age groups at Aireborough RUFC began their day with a takeover morning at their home ground.  The Yorkshire Carnegie community team visited the club along with Carnegie players Joe Buckle and Tom Bullough to run a training session with the junior teams and following this the players were invited headed to Emerald Headingley to see Carnegie in action.

Along with Aireborough, the juniors from Wharfedale and York RUFC also attended the game to take part in the community activities such as the half time games and forming the guards of honour for the teams.

Lisa McCann, Community Manager for Yorkshire Carnegie said: “It was great to see all the junior players enjoying the match day experience at Emerald Headingley.  We had some great feedback from the clubs and all three have booked return visits.”
