Yorkshire Carnegie full back Chris Elder has been banned for three games following a hearing by an independent disciplinary panel.

The panel, chaired by Ian Unsworth QC with John Greenwood and Guy Lovgreen, however found Yorkshire Carnegie back row Josh Bainbridge not guilty of the same charge as Elder.

The pair had been cited by independent citing commissioner Liam McTieman for tip tacking Iain Grieve of Hartpury College, contrary to Law 9.18. The incident occurred in the second half of the Greene King IPA Championship match between Yorkshire Carnegie and Hartpury College on 28 January 2018.

Elder will miss Yorkshire Carnegie’s games at Cornish Pirates and Bedford and the home game against Richmond. Bainbridge suffered a fractured cheekbone in a separate incident in the game and is out for six weeks.
