Yorkshire Carnegie’s community department are launching a new Mixed Ability rugby course at Middleton Leisure Centre from Monday 15th January, between 10am and 11am.

The sessions are free to attend and are open to people aged 16+ and for all abilities, but mainly focus on those with mental or physical disabilities and those returning to rugby or wanting to play at a slower pace.

The Mixed Ability sessions, which have already ran at Pontefract RUFC, are part of Project Rugby, which is an initiative from Premiership Rugby and England which aims to engage new audiences with rugby and stimulate a lifelong interest in the game.

Project Rugby is designed to increase participation in the game by people from traditionally underrepresented groups:  black Asian and minority ethnic people, people from lower socio-economic backgrounds and disabled people.
