Due to the recent adverse weather, Saturday’s U18 season opener against Newcastle Falcons will now take place at West Park Leeds instead of Bishop Burton College, it will still be a 2pm kick off.

The team will be captained by Ben Carlile and includes ten players in the 23 man squad who could make their first appearance for the Under-18s in a competitive game, having previously played in the Academy’s Junior Development Squad.

Looking ahead to the start of the season Yorkshire Carnegie’s Player Development Coach Steve Salvin said: “We are looking forward to getting our season underway against Newcastle this weekend.  We have had a long pre-season and the players have been training well so it will be good to see where we are in a competitive game.

“Ben Carlile will captain the side and earlier this week it was good to see him presented with his kit from Carnegie first team player Josh Bainbridge, who captained Carnegie last week and who himself is a graduate of our Academy.”
