Two tries from winger Dan Leake helped secure a bonus point 28-7 win for Leeds Beckett in their latest Super Rugby game at West Park Leeds on Wednesday night and helped them leapfrog the team from the South West into third spot in the table.

Leeds Beckett included Yorkshire Carnegie players Elliot Ward and Harry Newborn in their matchday squad. They opened the scoring through centre Dan Kelly early on before Exeter hit back to level the game at 7-7. The home forwards set the platform for victory however for Kerry Wood’s side before a high kick by Charlie Venables created the chance for Leake to race in from 30 metres out to put his side back in front.

Leake crossed for his second try after a smart cross field kick and the win bonus point was secured in the final minutes with a fourth home try to make it 28-7.

Leeds Beckett now face Cardiff Met next Wednesday at West Park Leeds in a game that you can watch live online by clicking here. The men from the Welsh capital are currently three points ahead of Leeds Beckett in the table, although Beckett have a game in hand. Victory on Wednesday 8th November at The Sycamores would propel the home side into second spot behind Northumbria University.
