Recently, the U17 ERDPP groups met at West Park Leeds and played two matches each. This served as a chance for the County selectors to watch the boys in a match scenario and link to the ongoing assessments ahead of their squad selection.

Last Sunday, all the boys from the U14-U16 age groups travelled across to Selby, who were outstanding hosts, and allowed nearly 450 players the opportunity to showcase their talents which they did with some aplomb. The day served three purposes for us as an academy and the wider County:

1. The Under 14’s had their first playing opportunity as part of the ERDPP calendar

2.We had chance to make some initial selections into the Under 15 JDS for the academy and 36 boys will train weekly at West Park Leeds from now until mid-December

3.The Under 16 County coaches were in attendance to gauge the depth of talent for their programme, later in the season, and for us to cast our eyes over the 12 or so players who had just missed out on JDS selection at the end of the season and benchmark them against those involved.

A massive thank you to both clubs for hosting and to the coaching and medical teams ensuring everyone had chance to play and receive expert treatment if needed.
