This week, the England U18 squad have held a camp in Leeds and on the back of that, the England coaches, Russell Earnshaw and Peter Walton, delivered a session with Yorkshire Carnegie’s Under 16 Junior Development Squad (JDS).

The session was full of energy and opportunities for the players to learn from each other about finding creative ways to “Beat the Game”! Not only that, but the 12 observing coaches, including first team player Alex Davies, and parents were fully involved with the session to help them understand the rationale behind our principles of play.

The players left the session full of enthusiasm and each of them had had the opportunity to reflect on what they had done well and what bits they are looking to improve on each week.

As part of our work to engage with the local coaching community, this week alone will see 50+ local schoolteachers and coaches attend sessions delivered by or organised through the Academy Coaching team so a massive thanks to Ben, Scott and Steve for building those relationships and to all those coaches giving up their spare time to support the Academy.
