Yorkshire Carnegie have signed England U20 international scrum half Will Homer on dual registration agreement from Aviva Premiership side Bath Rugby ahead of the new Greene King IPA Championship season.

Homer, 21, has trained with the Yorkshire squad this week and is set to feature in Saturday’s opening game of the season at London Scottish.

Homer was promoted from the Bath Academy to the senior squad last season having made his Aviva Premiership debut on the final day of the previous season.

He joined the Senior Academy set-up in the 2014-15 season from Sherborne School and played his earliest rugby at Andover RFC.

Homer’s Bath debut came in memorable fashion in an LV= Cup match against an experienced Harlequins side in February 2015, during which he kicked 10 points to help his team claim a narrow win at the Stoop.

In 2014-15, he spent time on dual registration with Cornish Pirates in the Championship and made his first start for the Pirates in the final game of that season against Yorkshire at Headingley Carnegie.

A Bath Rugby age group player for five seasons, he has gained youth honours with Dorset & Wilts and the South-West, plus England under 16 and under 18.

He is the younger brother of Bath Rugby full back Tom Homer and has made nine appearances in the Aviva Premiership.
