Yorkshire Carnegie head coach Bryan Redpath said he thought the effort from his players had been outstanding.

Speaking after the game Redpath said:  ‘There was a lot of good things and they were courageous in many ways. We had a good go at them. I think there were bits in the first half where we have to understand when we are trying to protect field possession what we are doing to our forwards when we are not executing or getting out of our half and suddenly we are in a scrum or a line out drive again. We never got a strangle hold in the second half.

“We lost the game because we lost composure when we had the ball and they took their opportunities when they had them late on.

“We will go down there and have a good crack at them but we need to keep playing smart and understand what you need from the men in front. Overall I’m chuffed with the boys effort, it was outstanding and you can’t question that.”
