Yorkshire Regiment Presentation

The Yorkshire Regiment Trophy was introduced at the start of the 2012-13 season when all three Yorkshire sides were competing against each other in the Championship – Yorkshire Carnegie, Doncaster Knights and Rotherham Titans. It was approved by the RFU Championship Clubs Committee as a venture to aid the development of Rugby Union in the North of England, and the Yorkshire Regiment kindly collaborated with the clubs as a means of strengthening the Yorkshire connection.

The six meetings between the three sides each season not only earn vital league points but are also entered into a Yorkshire mini league with the top team being presented with the Yorkshire Regiment Trophy once all the games are completed.

We’re delighted to be presented with the trophy at the game tomorrow. Look out for the presentation taking place pre match tomorrow on the pitch.

Pitchero Star Kicker Final
We’ve reached the Final of the Pitchero Star Kicking Competition! Tomorrow night Littleborough and Knaresborough go head-to-head in the Grand Final, with one kicker walking away with £5000 for his club!

James Moorland from Knaresborough and George Roberts from Littleborough must both kick 5 balls from the 22 yard line in an attempt to convert as many of the 5 balls in the shortest time possible. Good luck to both contestants!

What else is happening on Wednesday?
We welcome opera singer Laurence Robinson to the game tomorrow. Laurence will be performing on the Headingley Carnegie pitch tomorrow before the big game kicks off, and also at half time.

There will be a free rodeo bull for fans to enjoy outside the Club Shop, and live music in the Carnegie Gazebo pre match.

Junior fans can enjoy free face painting and balloon twisting in the Carnegie Café Bar pre match, and as always, our Carnegie mascot Terry the Yorkshire Terrier will be here meeting and greeting fans. Look out for the Spencer Properties Dance Team who will be performing at half time.

We’re welcoming students from clubs across Yorkshire to the game tomorrow, to take part in our match day activities, including a pre match Guard of Honour, player escorts and half-time skills sessions.

This week we welcome players from West Leeds Minis, Old Brodleians and Selby. We’ll also be celebrating West Leeds’s Seniors recent successes at half time. The team have recently secured back to back promotions and were also victorious at Twickenham on Finals Day, securing the Intermediate Cup with a 35-26 victory over Chorlton Park. Congratulations West Leeds!

Look out for the Club of the Month presentation taking place at half time too.
