It was with much sadness that the club learned today of the death of former Headingley FC second row Mark Reid, aged 57.

Mark passed away on Monday 27 February after a long illness and a short spell in Intensive Care. Mark will be put to rest at Easthampstead Crematorium, South Road, Bracknell, Wokingham, RG40 3DW on Wednesday 22 March at 12.45.

He was a member of the 1984-85 Yorkshire Cup winning side which was a period of dominance for the side in the County Cup as they lifted the trophy six times in seven seasons. He moved away from Yorkshire, originally to the Midlands before settling in Slough where he continued to play the game at a high level with Southampton.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time.
