Six players will make their debut for Ealing Trailfinders when they open the 2016-17 Greene King IPA Championship season against Yorkshire Carnegie on Saturday.

One of the debutants Mark Bright will captain the team for a third week in the row after he led the side in pre-season victories against Newport Gwent Dragons and Hartpury College.

Bright will again start at number 8, with flankers Iain Grieve and another new face Willie Ryan either side of him.

Second row Harry Casson is another to make his debut row and the former Moseley man will pack down alongside Carwyn Jones, who is entering his third season with the club.

In the front row Rhys Lawrence will begin at hooker, with new boys Ignacio Lancuba and Lewis Thiede packing down alongside him at prop.

There are a few more familiar faces in the backline, where left wing Curtis Wilson is the only debutant among the seven. On the right wing last year’s leading scorer Rhys Crane will be out to add to the 10 league tries he scored last season.

Club captain Alex Walker will link up with Jonny Bentley at half-back, with Bentley aiming to match his try-scoring performance from a week ago against Hartpury College.

In the centre James Cordy-Redden will make his first appearance for Ealing Trailfinders since his two starts against London Welsh and Nottingham towards the end of last season.

The former England 7s player will start outside Joe Munro, with Luke Daniels continuing in the number 15 shirt at fullback.
