Yorkshire Carnegie Head Coach Bryan Redpath says he is confident the squad will respond to defeat at Wasps having seen the standard set by Premiership sides in both pre-season games.

Carnegie were facing an uphill challenge when they trailed 35-3 at half time at the Ricoh Arena but the second half was a try apiece before a last second interception try for the hosts.

Speaking after the game Redpath said, "It was tough for the boys out there today. They were up against a top four Premiership side who were bringing internationals off the bench but we never threw in the towel and that will give us plenty to work on over the next fortnight before the start of the season."
