Jonah Holmes says he is remaining positive despite the losses to Aviva Premiership sides Bath and Wasps in pre-season as Yorkshire Carnegie prepare for the new Greene King IPA Championship.

Holmes went back to face his former club on Sunday but there was no happy returns for the full back in a 52-8 loss however he refused to be down beat after the game.

He commented, "I am focusing on the positives out of today, we were facing a top four Premiership side so we can't be too harsh on ourselves. That is the level we want to get to but we are on a journey to get there and we are clearly not there yet."
