Michael Cusack said it is good to be back at the club where he started his career and is looking forward to the new season and helping Carnegie in their bid for promotion to the Aviva Premiership.
The prop left Yorkshire Carnegie in 2008 after making 56 appearances for the club, but is set to pull on the Yorkshire Carnegie shirt this Saturday against Bath.
Speaking at the club’s recent pre-season training camp Cusack said: “It feels great to be back, I started as an Academy lad here and a lot of things have changed but it’s great to be back and hopefully we can progress as a team this year.
“When I left the club as a youngster I went to play for Doncaster for three years and played regularly in the Championship. After that I moved up to Glasgow and played for Glasgow Warriors for five seasons and then went on loan last season.
“A lot of the changes since I was last hear have been beneficial and unfortunately a lot of that has come because of the flooding so all the facilities are brand new and in top condition so you can’t ask for more than that.
“The boys have come together really well in pre-season, it’s obviously been a very tough few weeks for the boys but things are moving in the right direction. One of the main reasons I re-joined the club was to help them achieve promotion, we have got many ambitions here and one of those is to get back in the Premiership and that’s hopefully what we will do.”
