Fly half Joe Ford said he is enjoying life back at Yorkshire Carnegie, after re-joining the club in April from Sale Sharks ahead of the new Greene King IPA Championship season.
The 26-year-old started his career at Headingley Carnegie and made 63 appearances over two spells at the club. He has registered 426 points for the side since making his debut in 2009 and is looking to help the team in their bid for promotion this season.
“It’s been going well and I have enjoyed the last few weeks and the lads have been great welcoming me back,” he said. “I have been really impressed with the coaching set up at the club and the detail they have put into everything has been very good. There is a lot of emphasis now on the players to go out and deliver.
“Since I last played at the club I would say my fitness has improved. At Sale they put a lot of emphasis on getting fit and eating better so I feel I have improved there and mentally as well, I am older now and a bit more relaxed which has helped my game.”
