Rugby legend Kevin Sinfield has now played the final game of professional career after Yorkshire Carnegie’s loss on aggregate to Doncaster Knights.

Sinfield announced earlier this year that he would retire at the end of the season and the loss to Doncaster now brings an end to his career.

Speaking after the game, Sinfield said, "I was glad we got the win in the end for the lads. It has been a tough year and unfortunately we left ourselves with too much to do to overhaul Doncaster but the last six months with Carnegie have been thoroughly enjoyable for me and I have made 40 new mates, which is really special."
