Chris Walker said Carnegie are still in with a chance to make it through to the final and felt the way they finished the second half will give them confidence going into the second leg.
Speaking after the game Walker said: “It result was disappointing, but I think it was important to finish the way we did to give us a chance next week. The first 60 minutes was disappointing but when we played the type of rugby we wanted to play we had a chance and that’s what we need to do next week.
“It was a big game and we understood that. It felt as though when we got into the game we loosened up and started to play a bit more rugby and we need to concentrate on next week now. We will prepare this week and come back next week at Doncaster and give ourselves the best chance. If we play how we finished today we will give ourselves the best opportunity.”
