Yorkshire Carnegie captain Chris Jones thanked the Carnegie fans for their support and creating a memorable atmospheree at Headingley Carnegie in the British & Irish Cup Final.

Speaking after the game Jones said: "We are massively disappointed.  We went down to London Welsh last week and got the win and we thought on our home patch we would be able to assert some dominance, which the first half I think we did, we played most of the game in their 22. The problem was we didn't capitalise and they seemed to score every time they got in our 22 and unfortunately we couldn't do the same.

"At the start of the year we said one of our aims was to get through to the B&I Cup Final and into the play offs, we are in the play offs and got to the Final.  Unfortunately it's not the fairy-tale ending that we wanted but we have to be proud of everything we have achieve.  Before the game we talked about how we achieved getting to the Final and it involved 41 players, including some from the University and that's a real positive for the club moving forward as many of them are young players.

"It was great to see a good crowd at Headingley Carnegie, getting behind us.  As a player you want to play in front of big crowds and we want to start building that home support."
