Yorkshire Carnegie head coach Bryan Redpath felt his side were not too far off from the league leaders, following their game against Bristol and said they had created enough to come away with more in the game.

Speaking after the defeat to Bristol, Redpath said: “We had a lot of pressure and didn’t capitalise on our opportunities.  I don’t they were 16 points better than us in the overall game and they are the best team in the league, so I don’t think we are that far away.

“I think we have learnt a lot about ourselves during that game, and Bristol, which is the key thing.  I think we created enough today to come away with a lot more in that game and sadly we haven’t.  Our intent was right today and that is key and we have got to grasp that now.  We now know if we get through to these play-offs what we could face and what they are and we can take a lot from today.  On a whole we have got a lot to work on and also a lot to be proud of.”
