Yorkshire Carnegie prop Lewis Boyce made his long awaited return for Yorkshire Carnegie against Cornish Pirates and said he was happy to play his part in the win.
Boyce made his last appearance in 2014 but suffered a long injury set back that has kept him on the sidelines. He made a return for Harrogate last weekend and was this week given the nod from Bryan Redapath to make his league debut for the club.
Speaking after the game Boyce said: “It was class to be out there today, it’s a great team that we have. I was pretty happy when Brush selected me for the squad, as a young lad playing for this team was something I always wanted to do, since joining the Academy at 15. It was a dream of mine and to be out there with a top bunch of boys was special.
“For the last try I was in the right place at the right time, to be honest it was Tom Casson who set it up and the phase before that it was the boys on the other side of the pitch. I was just there to give my little bit of skill I guess.
“The injury has been tough, but I have just got on with it. I am with a great set of lads that keep pushing me on and they have been there for me through some tough times.”
