Yorkshire Carnegie Under-18s lost out to Northampton Under-18s at West Park Leeds with Harry Davey scoring a converted try for the home side.

With 11 minutes to go the young Carnegie side were trailing  7-15 in what had been a very physical game and one which saw Carnegie’s defence pressuring Northampton into errors and penalties.  The hosts attacking play and the tempo also enable them to play at cause the young Saints players trouble.
Speaking after game Carnegie coach Jon Pendlebury said: “All the players were very disappointed with the result and have been from the previous three games. But in what was our best performance of the season the players can take some real positives. The most pleasing thing was a number of attacking and defensive areas coming through from recent weeks. There are still some areas that let us down with regard to game management and decisions that we make, particularly the final 11 minutes. However, these are areas that we a working on, so long as we learn and learn quickly is the important thing.”
