A much improved performance from Yorkshire Carnegie’s Uner-18s saw them narrowly miss out at Scarborough RUFC against Newcastle in their third game of the season.
The group as a whole and progressed well from last week after their disappointing loss at Gloucester. A five minute period in the first half, when the young Yorkshire Carnegie side conceded three kickable penalties ultimately was the difference. Carnegie scored two tries to one, with James Sanderson and Connor Field crossing in each half and Harry Davey kicking the conversions.
The side showed a good understanding the contact area, managing the very windy conditions and working with the referee is a good experience for the young developing players.
Next fixture home 9th Jan vs Northampton Saints at Pontefract RUFC.
