An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join Yorkshire Carnegie to drive forwards existing initiatives around community development and school-based delivery.

We require a motivated and enthusiastic individual with fantastic communication skills and experience of working within sports development to join our small department and to help deliver against existing objectives, whilst looking ahead to our needs for growth to extend our reach across the county of Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on the planning and delivery of schools based rugby/education programmes and school festivals for Yorkshire Carnegie
  • To develop a network of contacts and a database for school-based staff across the different regions in Yorkshire
  • To work with key stakeholder and partners to grow the delivery network and delivery capacity for Yorkshire Carnegie within schools across Yorkshire
  • To work with funding partners and external stakeholders to establish future funding strategies in support departmental growth
  • Provide marketing staff with all necessary information needs from schools program delivery to support their roles for game-day planning/organisation
  • Support the planning and delivery of all the pre-match and half-time festivals/events at Headingley Carnegie Stadium
  • To support the Yorkshire Carnegie rugby camp program as a coach during school-holiday periods, and to promote holiday programmes within the school delivery network
  • Work with the Yorkshire Carnegie club development manager to extend the delivery of rugby/education programmes to Yorkshire clubs

Person Specification

  • Level 2 Coaching Qualification in Rugby Union (desirable)
  • Experience of school based coaching/teaching
  • Experience of Sports Development
  • Ability to monitor own workload
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekdays and match days

This is a fixed term contract to 30th June 2017. The salary for the role will be based on qualifications, skills and experience. The successful applicant must of the use of their own car.
