Kevin Sinfield has been nominated for the 2015 BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards to be held this year at the 8,000-capacity Odyssey Arena in Belfast.

It will be the first time that Northern Ireland has hosted the event, which first went on the road in 2006.  Presenting the show to the live arena audience plus the millions more watching on TV will be Gary Lineker, Gabby Logan and Clare Balding.

The nomination of Sinfield is in recognition of his incredible season with Leeds Rhinos, leading the team to a historic treble to bring down the curtain on a glittering career in the thirteen man code. 

The spectacular evening is a chance for the public to share the experience with the stars before crowning their personality of the year, via a public vote with by phoning on their landline, texting on their mobiles or online. To vote free online, you will need to be registered with a BBC iD. Signing up only takes a matter of seconds, and creating your BBC iD now means you will be in a position to cast your vote for the main Sports Personality of the Year award on Sunday, 20 December.
