Academy product Matt Dudman says he is hoping to make the most of his chance to play in the first team after retaining his place to face Bedford in Saturday’s big game in the Greene King IPA Championship.

The 22-year-old made a try scoring return to the side a fortnight ago against Moseley in his first appearance of the season and his first appearance under Head Coach Bryan Redpath. He has impressed the former Scottish international scrum half enough against Moseley to keep the number nine shirt for the trip to Goldington Road.

Looking ahead to the game, Dudman said, "I was really pleased with how things went against Moseley. It was nice for the whole team that we managed to create and score quite a few tries and that will give us confidence going down to Bedford. I started in the game there last season and it is always a tough place to go, we lost 15-10 on that occasion and we know we will need to be better than against Moseley this week to get the right result."
