Yorkshire Carnegie second rower Matt Smith said the team have been able to put the fortnight without a game to good use in preparation this weekend’s big fixture against Bedford.

Looking ahead to the fixture against the team in fourth place, Smith said “Bedford are a good team and they have started well this year and they are always strong at home so it will be tough.  With us just having had a weekend without the team have put that to good use and worked hard last week. We had three days in and we were doing a lot of conditioning and getting our fitness levels where they needed to be but also working on a lot on detail which is where we feel we can get better as a team.”
