Yorkshire Carnegie head coach, Bryan Redpath, admitted that although he felt his side’s performance was not good in enough in the first half against Doncaster he was pleased with how they responded to secure the win.

Speaking after the game Redpath said: “In the first half we had a lot of errors and there was two major ones which they capitalised and we were pretty fortunate that they missed a few kicks. I am delighted with how the boys came back in the second half, it was a bit scrappy but on a whole we got the points and they dug in.

“We are about 40% off playing to what we can do for 80 minutes. We are playing well in patches but we are not backing it up so we have got to learn lots and keep supporting each other and not have a blame culture.  Doncaster have a few injuries and they came here with a real dogged mentality and tonight for us the first half wasn’t good enough but the second half was.”
