Yorkshire Carnegie captain, Chris Jones, said he had mixed feelings after his side secured an opening day win against Jersey.

Although he said he was happy with the result he admitted he was disappointed with the first half performance, “We said we were going to play with discipline, play territory and we didn’t do that,” said Jones.  “We gave away far too many penalties, two yellow cards and that’s exactly what we said that we were not going to do. Fair play to the boys at the end of the first half we went in and had a chat about what we needed to do to turn it around and we played with a lot more composure in the second half and got the result.”
