Centre James Fitzpatrick admitted he was delighted to open his account for the season as he crossed for a try to secure a 10-10 draw with Romania at Headingley Carnegie.

Fitzpatrick endured an injury nightmare last season however he got the new campaign off to the best possible start. He told us, "It was nice to get over for a try. I could run off lines like that all day long, the lads did all the great work and Chris Pilgrim produced a great ball for me to run onto and score. There is a lot of competition within the squad now and everyone is driving each other on in pre-season so things are really positive within the camp."
