Festival of Rugby 2015 is on target to reach its aim of one million participants, with rugby-themed activities and celebrations happening up and down the country until October 31.

Since kicking off on June 10, over 300 Festival of Rugby events have already taken place including: a Tag Rugby Festival at Luton Rugby Football Club with Former England Women's player Maggie Alphonsi, an Open Day and Beer Festival at Watford RFC and a Royal Navy Beach Rugby Festival at Weymouth, illustrating the variety of events under the Festival of Rugby umbrella.

To celebrate reaching the one million milestone, England players George Kruis and David Wilson recorded a special message highlighting some of the events they think will wow the crowds over the coming months.

George Kruis said "Rugby is such an inclusive and accessible game, for all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. Festival of Rugby 2015 really encourages people to get involved, to give the game a try and is helping capture the imagination of the nation during rugby's biggest year.”

Steve Grainger, RFU Rugby Development Director, said: "We're delighted with the level of interest and the range of different activities taking place to involve so many people across the country in the Festival of Rugby. This is about having fun but is also an important opportunity to raise awareness of our sport this year and show what it has to offer everyone from all age groups and in all communities. Our rugby clubs are embracing this chance to welcome new people and we hope it helps to inspire the next generation of players.”

England Rugby 2015 Managing Director, Steve Brown, said; "This is one of rugby's biggest years and the Festival of Rugby 2015 enables everyone to join in and feel a part of the celebrations, whether it's through a bake sale, choir performance or rugby match.”
