Young Yorkshire Carnegie player Max Wright has been named in the 26-man England Under-18s squad for the upcoming Development Tour to South Africa.

The England team will face three fixtures whilst on tour, starting with France Under-18s on August 7 in Cape Town. They will then face a South African Under-18s ‘A’ side in George on August 11 before wrapping up things with a clash against South Africa Under-18s on August 15 in Cape Town.

18-year-old Wright was part of the England U18 squad, along with Yorkshire Carnegie team mate Charlie Capps, that won the Bronze medal in the 2015 Rugby Europe Under 18 Championship in France earlier this year. He can play at fly half or centre and has captained the Yorkshire Carnegie U18 side this season. Born in Leeds, Max originally played for local side West Park Leeds and attended Prince Henry’s Grammar School in Otley, where he sat his A-levels in Maths, Business and DT this year.
