Yorkshire Carnegie Head Coach Bryan Redpath believes that Rugby Union in Yorkshire has a fantastic opportunity to capitalise on the interest generated in the game by the forthcoming World Cup in England, which begins in 100 days.

Redpath played in three World Cups as a player with Scotland and he says the competition has now grown to the pinnacle of the sport. He commented, "The World Cup is a fantastic event now. My first World Cup in South Africa was the last of the amateur era and I could see how big it was getting over the next two tournaments and now it is the biggest thing in the game, outside of the British Lions, because you only get to play in it every four years. The games at Elland Road are a great chance for Yorkshire to show how much we appreciate top class sport here, once again, and I think it will be a brilliant opportunity for our sport in the county."
