Academy prop Lewis Boyce said he was honoured and delighted to be named the club’s Academy Player of the Year at the annual awards dinner.

Boyce has been injured since the turn of the year but his attitude and dedication during this difficult period have made him a role model for his academy team mates and he admits that he is hungry to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Paul Hill, Josh Bainbridge and Jack Walker next season and cement his place in the first team squad.

He commented, "It's an honour to receive the award especially from my good friend Jack Walker. I look up to all the boys who have broke through into the first team this season and hopefully I can put my injury behind me now and look forward to doing likewise next season."
