Speaking about their selection Yorkshire Carnegie Academy Director Andy Rock said: “Alongside the great input they continue to receive from their clubs and schools within Yorkshire, all of these players have been involved with the Yorkshire Carnegie Under-16 (Junior Development Squad) programme under the guidance of JDS Manager Danny Wild this season. It's fantastic for this small group of players to have been rewarded with selection for the games at the Wellington festival having progressed from the Yorkshire County Under-16 programme.
“The Yorkshire County Under-16s have played some great rugby this season, and there are a few other Under-16 players who have impressed us this season in the Academy. It's a group that we are looking forward to seeing progress into the Junior Academy next season.”
JDS Manager Danny Wild added: “The Wellington Festival will be a fantastic opportunity for the players to be involved in a national programme. They will play in some challenging games with new players which will be a great learning experience for them. These players along with the rest of the Junior Develop Squad Under-16’s have worked really hard together since June to develop as people and players and it nice for these six to go on and represent the Academy at Wellington. All of us in the Academy wish them well and hope they have a great time.”
